Wow I was just talking to a classmate about encyclopedias and wondering how people could afford to buy new sets every year. Was it like a one-time situation, save for years to buy them kinda thing? Or an annual subscription? Idk but I know I want some lol

We had a door to door salesman who used to come around back in the day, but I read Encyclopedia Britannica is only online now 🥲

my grandma used to tell us to take a spoonful of apple cider vinegar a day. this helps me recognize the elder and ancestral wisdom in her advice!

My favorite vinegar right now is a lilac vinegar I got from an herbal CSA. It’s so gentle and helps with digestion. Eating acids like vinegars with high fat foods helps with digestion and enhances flavors, and every time I think of griot and pikliz, I’m reminded of how our ancestors instinctively knew what would go well together.

this reminded me of when i sprained my arm in primary school ( i think y’all call it elementary school in the States) and my grandmas remedy for that was to take some vinegar water and soak bandages in it to wrap around my arm. it healed 🤲🏽. she also cleans with vinegar ✨ the wisdom just runs through our grandmothers bones 🤲🏽
